As a start venue for stage 6 of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain on Friday 7 th September 2018, Barrow in Furness is a great place to get up close and personal to the riders and watch them as they roll-out through the town, before heading off on the Cumbria stage.
Riders will be located around Barrow’s Town Hall on Duke Street from approximately 9am and will be presented to the crowds from 9.30am. The stage will start from the Town Hall at 11am and it is expected that the majority of visitors will watch the stage start from the Town Hall.
The riders will take part in a 10km roll-out across Barrow in Furness and people will be able to watch the riders go past anywhere along the route, which takes in Duke St, Abbey Rd, past Barrow Park, along Greengate Street, Michaelson Rd, Bridge Rd, North Rd and Hindpool Rd before heading along Roose Rd to the official start on Rampside Rd.
If you are planning to come to Barrow to watch the start of stage 6, show your support to the riders in the following ways:
A Fanzone will be in place from 10am at the bottom of Dalton Rd next to the Furness Railway, where fans will have the chance to watch the riders as they come along Abbey Road. They will then be able to immediately turn their attention to the Barrow BID sponsored large screen TV and watch the action live on ITVs coverage. The Fanzone will be in place between 10am and 5pm with a range of activities.
