On Friday 7th September, some of the biggest names in cycling will be in Barrow ready to take on the Tour of Britain as Stage 6 starts from Barrow Town Centre.
From outside Barrow Town Hall, the riders will start their 170km long route through the streets of the town and then onto South Lakeland & Allerdale, culminating with a summit finish on Whinlatter.
This is the first time Barrow in Furness has hosted the race.

09:30 Riders arrive and are introduced to the public at a rider presentation outside the Town Hall
10.00 Barrow’s own Fanzone with large screen TV will open at the bottom of Dalton Rd
10:45 SEND students on adapted bikes will start the race from outside the Town Hall
11:00 Riders leave Barrow Town hall to commence a 10km roll-out route around Barrow
11.15 The official stage start will commence from Rampside Rd
The stage is expected to finish on Whinlatter by 3.30pm
